Senior Legal Counsel (EU)
Responsibilities
- Reporting to Head of Legal Department, or Senior Counsel, you will be an important member of our team of regulatory and licensing lawyers.
- You and your team will handle legal issues relating to Commercial work (e.g. Contracts, Product, IP, etc.) and/or on-going licensing and financial regulatory matters globally.
- You and the team will handle on-going commercial issues and contracts globally, such as sponsorships, advertising, procurement, MOUs, NDAs, token listings, terms and conditions,
- brokerage, licensing and custody agreements.
- You may support us on Disputes (litigation/arbitration) and Employment work depending on interest although you are not required to have prior specialism in these areas.
- You will be responsible for addressing commercial contracts risks within the company, and proposing measures to mitigate and reduce such risks.
- Where appropriate, you will be representing us before commercial parties in negotiations.
- You will lead the efforts to manage external law firms including their engagement, review of their work and approval of fees with on-going matter-management to ensure the best results for us.
- You will represent the legal team before internal stakeholders to provide robust, commercially sensible, accurate and practical advice and to manage their expectations throughout the life of the matter.
- Qualified lawyer ideally with 2-7 years of post-qualification legal experience in a reputable law firm and/or in-house organisation.
- Graduated with a law degree from a reputable university
- Ability to handle commercial contract matters from beginning-to-end.
- Start-up experience is preferred, especially demonstrable experience in handling complex legal matters in fast-paced and exacting situations.
- Experience and knowledge of crypto products, regulations and transactions are advantageous.
- Ability to work independently, exercise common sense judgement and make tough decisions.
- Excellent legal drafting and interpretation skills.
- Excellent command of English
